In Salah Gas project (Joint Venture between Sonatrach-BP-Equinor operating in the desert of Algeria)

Responsibilities:

 

  • Evaluate offset data before the start of drilling and preparing the pre-spud package.
  • Analyse, evaluate and describe formations while drilling, using cuttings, gas.
  • Supervising and quality control of geological data including Mudlogging, MWD, LWD, Coring and wireline services.
  • Supervision and quality control of geological data (QA/QC), including Mudlogging, MWD, LWD, coring and logging services.
  • Monitor and evaluate geological and logging (MWD) data in real-time during horizontal drilling to stay on the well-planning trajectory.
  • Perform all geological and formation evaluation activity, supervision and reporting, including Daily Geological Report , Composite log , Well Data book and Well Final Report.
  • Responsible for making decisions to pick Formation Tops & Casing Points and about suspending or continuing drilling.
  • Coring operations (Determine coring point, core description and core packing).
  • Logistics concerning the formation evaluation contractors as well as their equipment.
  • All safety aspects for the well and personnel during operations.
  • Providing relevant well data and perform well correlations at the well site.

  • Monitoring and supervising the collecting, processing and dispatching of formation evaluation samples.

  • Manage the operations on monitoring technologies and methodology for geological storage on In Salah Gas (ISG) CO Sequestration Project.
  • Manage and led field projects for microseismic data acquisition and operation, tiltmeters and soil mapping / soil gas data.
  • Collaborate with subsurface team to understand the behavior of CO in the reservoir.
  • Lead field teams in partnership with British Geological Survey (BGS) and Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (BRGM) and ENAGEO to perform long-term aquifer monitoring pump tests and sampling.
  • Lead field teams in partnership with BGS for soil gas data acquisition, ecological mapping and radon gas monitoring.
  • Establish simulation of CO content in gas production.
  • Report the CO monitoring activities to the management.
  • Study proposals and scope of work from contractors for new contracts for CO monitoring.
  • Giving presentations to internal and external delegations
  • Familiar with well intervention operations (slick line, coiled tubing…etc.)
  • Familiar with well test and data acquisition ( build up test, step ray test (SRT), static bottom hole using Spartek gauges )
