Duties: carrying out preventive maintenance, installation and removal of various mechanical system/components repairs and documentation of the heavy lift equipment system, vessel anchoring system, cranes components, pumps, deck equipment such as tugger winches, air tuggers, cranes and auxiliary equipment such as compressors, pumps and water systems.

 

Piping fittings, valves and emergency preparedness equipment such as life boats, fast rescue boat and other related equipment.

 

Take immediate steps to correct any problem

 

Operate equipment and engines as needed per testing procedures.

 

Comply with equipment check list as per inspection procedures.

 

Comply with lock out/tag out procedures for all equipment under repairs.

Perform continuous improvement procedures reviews to update and improve safety and equipment conditions.

Duties: carrying out routine check on all running mechinaries in the engine room and taking of parameters before the close of every shift while on board.

 

Checking and pumping of various bilges in the engine room.

 

Carrying out serving and maintenance of main propulsion engines and auxillary generators such catC, GB, catC, catC, B, Wartsilla L, MackM

 

Carrying out repairs and changing of mechanical seal on various pumps such as F.O cargo pump. Fresh water cargo pumps. Bellaft pumps and Hydraulic pumps.

 

Carrying out P.M.S (Preventive Mainatenance) on tuggers, towing winch and anchor winch, also greasing of towing pine shark jaw

 

Greasing of all machineries onboard the vessel as at when due.

 

Assisting the senior duty engineer in overhaulibs of internal combustion engines if need arises.

 

Carrying out a role assigned to me during lockdown, fire abandoned and manover board drills.

 

Connecting and disconnecting of hoses before and after fuel or water bunker operations.

 

Sounding of various water and fuel tanks on board the ship.

 

Putting online of D.P systems whenever its needed.

Checking of oil level on all generators and machines during resumption of shifts.

Checking of guages on all running machinerieas, taking of parameters on all equipments before the close of shift.

 

Servicing cleaning and running of F.O/L.O purifiers if necessary.

 

Carrying out maintenance and minor repairs catD and catD generators onboard the rig.

Filling of F.O day tank, working on various plumbing systems in the accommodation.

 

Taking of parameters on various running of machineries before the close of shift.

 

Making sure that all working tools are secured after being used to carry out a task.

 

Carrying out housekeeping in the engine room and mechanical workshop.
