Job Summary :

.    Witness +/- Development, Exploration

.    Shared  well  planning  and  preparation  of  mud  logging,  wellsite geology, wireline logging, MWD/LWD, and coring programmes, contracts and procedures which will be used during the drilling of the wells.

.    Work in close cooperation with the subsurface team, the Drilling Dept  and  other  relevant  groups  in  pursuit  of  designing  and executing drilling campaigns.

.    Ensure smooth flow of information between relevant project team and Drilling Dept.

.    Interface with service companies and consultants (wireline, MWD/ LWD, mud logging, data logging, coring, and well testing/ sampling).

Job Summary :

 

.   Collect  and  monitor  information  from  drilling  operations.  This includes drilling data, gas and samples.

. Use a range of equipment and laboratory techniques, such as binocular microscopes, ultraviolet fluorescences and thin section analysis, and also monitor the following drilling parameters : speed of rotation, rate of penetration, pump rate, pit levels, cutting rate and mud flow rate.

.   Interpreting information and feeding it back to the drilling team to enhance safety and success.

.   Operating  and  maintaining  a  real  time  computer      base  data acquisition system, the Advance Logging System (ALS), which records all aspects of rig activity.

Liaise with relevant service company personnel to ensure appropriate and adequate equipment and

personnel are assigned for the successful completion of the drilling and data collection programmes in the well. Inspect service company shops/locations during the planning stage to assess safety conditions, equipment maintenance and cal- ibration, and personnel. Supervise the daily geological operations during the drilling of the wells to ensure the well objec- tives are met in a safe and cost effective manner and in line with procedures and protocol.
