Lead and supervise all aspects of drilling operations, from initial planning to well completion, ensuring compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Oversee daily operations on the drilling site, ensuring that the work is completed safely, efficiently, and within the budget. Ensure the proper coordination of various teams and contractors involved in the drilling process (rig crew, mud engineers, cementing services, and other third-party contractors). Develop and implement the drilling program, reviewing and approving well plans, procedures, and schedules. Monitor drilling performance, identifying any inefficiencies or operational issues, and implementing corrective actions. Supervise and manage the well control operations, including blowout prevention, wellbore stability, and the proper use of drilling fluids. Make decisions and adjustments during unexpected events (e.g., stuck pipe, lost circulation, blowout incidents) to minimize downtime and ensure well integrity. Serve as the primary point of contact between the on-site drilling team and the company’s management or office-based personnel. Provide detailed reports on drilling operations, performance metrics, incidents, and any deviations from the plan. Keep management informed of key operational milestones, issues, and corrective actions being taken to resolve problems. Participate in post-job debriefs to analyze performance, lessons learned, and identify improvements for future operations.
