Roles and Responsibilities
Chief Mechanic / Hydraulic tech. - Planning the job accordingly Troubleshooting hydraulic / electric faults. Updating maintenance Logs - AMOS, SAP. Keep up with HSSE alerts, bulletins , product & safety bulletins to provide the products and services that ensure the optimal rig performance. Ensuring equipment is kept in optimum working order to minimize downtime /maintenance time. Responsible for critical spares for all hydraulic & mechanical equipment. Liaising with the drilling and Sub-sea departments to plan and schedule maintenance. Assisting the sub-sea department with repairs, maintenance and running of Sub-sea equipment as required. Up to date preventative and corrective maintenance with maintenance superintendent (Chief Engineer) and other department heads like drilling, and marine departments. Carrying out maintenance according to the company maintenance management systems. Ensuring permits to work, isolation systems, strictly and to follow all the rules from the company. Daily inspection and maintenance on all hydraulic and mechanical equipment, always monitoring and evaluating equipment performance to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability. Ensuring that reports for repair, maintenance, and service of equipment are accurate and complete. Ensuring that all third-party equipment is fit for purpose, certified, correctly installed, and maintained while on the rig. Tube & pipe & hose / ends identification & fabrication & change out include - fabricated Tube & pipe & hose pressure test certification and keep records up - to date in hose register for all drilling equipment including cranes. Evaluated equipment spare part quotation requests. Control / Reorder / Follow for new Hydr. products & recommendations - Hydraulic fittings, components , swagelok , etc.
