As an Assistant Driller, I am responsible for supporting the Driller in the efficient and safe execution of drilling operations. I ensure the smooth operation of drilling equipment, manage the crew, and maintain a safe working environment. My duties include monitoring drilling parameters, maintaining equipment, and adhering to operational procedures to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. I actively participate in pre-job safety meetings and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards. I assist in the operation and maintenance of drilling equipment, including the draw works, mud pumps, and top drive systems, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition. I also supervise the handling and transportation of drill pipes and tools to prevent equipment damage and ensure operational efficiency. My role involves coordinating with the rig crew to execute drilling activities according to the drilling program and responding to any changes in the well conditions. I document daily drilling activities, equipment usage, and maintenance schedules to ensure accurate reporting and communication with the Driller and Rig Manager. Additionally, I ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
