They also conduct tests, such as non-destructive testing (NDT), to detect any defects or flaws. 4. Following Safety Protocols Rig welders must follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring proper ventilation, and adhering to established safety procedures. 5. Collaborating with Rig Crew Rig welders work closely with other rig crew members, such as drillers, mechanics, and engineers, to ensure that welding and fabrication tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
