Advise and consult with departmental staff to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, fostering a secure work environment. • Identify and assess hazardous conditions and practices in workplaces, conducting surveys to evaluate occupational health, safety, and environmental conditions. • Contribute to various process safety initiatives, such as PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, PSSR, SIMOPs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, and insurance surveys. Lead risk studies and conduct consequence analyses as required. • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function. • Provide input for preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives. • Review engineering designs to ensure alignment with company and industry safety standards. • Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and promote safe work practices. • Perform safety inspections at construction sites and departmental facilities, including hazard analyses and the preparation of detailed reports and recommendations. • Assess the effectiveness of hazard control systems, policies, and procedures, recommending improvements to prevent workplace incidents and injuries. • Develops and updates Safety and Environment standards, procedures and guidelines in conformity with Company policies for use in-house or by Contractors/Consultants with regard to Projects undertaken. • Review projects Safety/HSE target schedules to ensure that they are being achieved effectively and efficiently in accordance with Corporate, Company and Project requirements. • Analyze injury, property damage, and loss data to formulate comprehensive recommendations for corrective actions, collaborating closely with management. • Provide technical assistance and advice during emergency situations and incidents, both during and outside regular working hours. • Participate in the development and promotion of safety educational programs, both on and off the job, including creating articles, promotional materials, and delivering presentations. Mentor other OE/compliance engineers as needed. • Evaluate contractor prequalification and review safety submittals to ensure compliance with corporate requirements.
