o Control all Drilling / Workover Operations performed during the shift in a safe and efficient manner. o Ensure the operation is carried out as defined in the approved Operator's Instructions and Programme, and the operation is executed in accordance with Company's Operation Manual. o Report directly to the Company man, Area Manager, any deviations from approved Operator's Instructions or Drilling Programme. o Responsible for ensuring the Drilling Crew perform Planned Maintenance on drilling equipment thoroughly and that it is recorded on the PM sheets. o Ensure that the daily checks are carried out on drilling equipment. o Responsible for always ensuring good housekeeping at site. o Complete Daily Drilling Reports. o Calculate ton-miles on drilling line maintain an accurate logbook for slip & cut. o Check instructions, programmes and calculations supplied by Operator. o Maintain an accurate pipe tally. o Conduct BOP pressure test. o Acts as co-coordinator during well test operations. o Familiar shut-in procedure as per company's policy. o Ensure kill sheet filled in every shift and updated for current drilling phase. o Ensure lifting equipment such as elevators are gauged and compatible with tubular(s) in use and prepare for the further plans.
