Support the Driller-Assist the Driller in controlling and monitoring all drilling operations. Supervise Drilling Crew • Lead and coordinate activities of the rig floor crew (roughnecks, derrickmen, etc.). • Ensure that crew members are working safely and effectively. • Monitor performance and report any issues to the Driller or Toolpusher. Monitor Equipment and Operations • Inspect and maintain drilling equipment like draw works, top drive, pumps, and pipe handling systems. • Assist with the installation and maintenance of BOP (Blowout Preventer) systems. • Ensure proper functioning of all safety and control systems. Well Control • Be trained and certified in well control. • Monitor for signs of a kick (unexpected influx of formation fluids). • Assist with shut-in procedures and pressure control under the Driller’s command.
