Responsible for performing planned preventive maintenance activities, repairing, and servicing all electrical equipment and systems essential to drilling operations. Conducts effective supervision of electrical crew and tools utilization while considering the safety of personnel, the environment, and equipment to maximize drilling operation efficiency. Maintaining the reliability and integrity of rig power generation and distribution equipment such as generators, engine controls units, SCR’s, VFD’s, UPS’s, transformers, etc. Plan and coordinate with the OIM/RMS and other departments to secure equipment’s and perform safety inspections prior to any operations or major activity such as rig moves, running & retrieving BOP. Ensure Switch rooms, VFD or SCR rooms have no flammable materials contained within them and that these areas are not used as storage areas. Insulating mats will be maintained and kept free of grease and dirt. Wherever possible these areas should be restricted to technical personnel only. Electric shock recovery kits will be maintained and accessible.
