Main Responsibilities of an Offshore Floorman: 1. Rig Floor Operations Assist in connecting and disconnecting drill pipe. Handle tubulars, drill collars, and other tools during tripping operations. Operate manual tongs, slips, elevators, and other tools under supervision. 2. Maintenance Clean, paint, and maintain the drill floor, rig equipment, and surrounding areas. Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment (e.g., greasing, replacing worn parts). 3. Safety Duties Follow all safety procedures and protocols. Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Participate in emergency drills (fire, man overboard, etc.) 4. Support to Other Departments Help the derrickman, motorman, and roustabouts when needed. Assist during equipment rig-up/rig-down and moving operations. 5. Reporting Report unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the driller or assistant driller. Keep accurate logs of tool inventory or maintenance tasks, if required.
