As a professional Derrickman, I am responsible for the safe handling, guiding, and racking of drill pipes, casing, and tubing during drilling, tripping, and completion operations. My role includes working at height within the derrick structure, ensuring precise pipe placement while adhering to strict safety procedures and using fall protection equipment. I continuously monitor drilling fluid properties and mud pit levels, operating and maintaining mud pumps, shale shakers, and associated fluid circulation systems to support smooth drilling operations. I assist the drill crew during pipe running and pulling activities, providing efficient support in handling tubulars and maintaining operational flow. Performing preventive maintenance on all mud systems and derrick equipment is part of my daily tasks to avoid downtime and ensure equipment reliability. I work closely with the Driller and Rig Supervisor, reporting on operations and contributing to effective team communication. In addition, I actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills to uphold the highest safety standards on site. My experience in HPHT wells and well control practices further enhances operational safety and efficiency. Supporting floor crews, managing critical equipment, and maintaining constant operational awareness are key aspects of my role as a committed and safety-focused Derrickman.
