As a Driller, I am responsible for operating and supervising all aspects of drilling operations on the rig floor. I ensure that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the drilling program, company procedures, and industry standards. My role involves direct oversight of the rig crew, including assigning daily tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational guidelines. I operate the drilling unit (top drive or rotary table), monitor drilling parameters such as weight on bit, pump pressure, torque, and rate of penetration, and make real-time adjustments to optimize performance and reduce non-productive time (NPT). I maintain constant communication with the Toolpusher and Drilling Supervisor (Company Man) to report progress and address any operational challenges. In addition to routine drilling operations, I am trained and certified in well control procedures (IWCF Level 4), and I am fully prepared to take immediate action during kick detection, lost circulation, or other critical situations. I also oversee the proper maintenance and inspection of rig equipment, ensuring that all systems are in top working condition to prevent downtime. I contribute to preparing daily drilling reports (DDR), manage drilling fluid systems, assist in casing and cementing operations, and coordinate with service companies as needed. My priority is always to maintain high safety, operational excellence, and adherence to environmental standards.
