• Operate and maintain the derrick and associated equipment. • Ensure proper handling and storage of drill pipe and other tools. • Assist in the tripping operations, including running and retrieving drill pipe. • Monitor and control the mud circulation system. • Ensure the proper functioning of mud pumps and mixers. • Maintain appropriate mud properties and levels. • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols on the rig. • Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment and rig machinery. • Participate in safety drills and training sessions. • Work closely with the Driller and other crew members to ensure seamless operations. • Assist in the training of junior crew members and new hires. • Communicate effectively with the team regarding operations and safety concerns. • Perform routine maintenance on derrick equipment and machinery. • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures as necessary. • Keep the derrick area clean and organized.
