Assist with Drilling Operations: Support the driller in managing and monitoring the drilling process. Operate equipment like the drill string, blowout preventer (BOP), and other rig machinery. Ensure all drilling operations are conducted safely and comply with safety standards and company policies. Monitor rig safety systems and emergency procedures to ensure the well-being of all personnel on the rig. Conduct regular safety checks of equipment and tools. Perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Report malfunctions or issues to the driller and assist with troubleshooting and repair. Help with cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining the rig’s BOP and other critical components. Assist in managing and monitoring the drilling mud system, which helps to cool the drill bit, remove cuttings, and maintain pressure in the well. Help in maintaining proper mud properties, including the weight, viscosity, and fluid levels. Assist in coordinating with the mud engineers to ensure the proper mix and function of drilling fluids.

Knowledge of BOP (Blowout Preventer) systems, including components, functions, and operation. Ability to apply different well control methods such as Driller’s Method and Wait & Weight.
