Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for the Drilling Rig operation for the Rigs assigned to him. • Supervise the Tool Pusher in day-to-day operations. • Liaise with operator “Contract Holder” on every day basis and plan for the operation activities in advance. • Responsible for the maintenance of the Rig and equipment. • Responsible for preparing the Annual Maintenance program of his rigs. • Responsible for the Safety of his rigs. • Responsible for authorizing the Material Requisitions from the rigs. • Responsible for running the rig within the budget. • Supervises the implementation of the Company’s procedures, standards and specifications. • Controls and signs the IADC drilling report and the official daily statement and all attachments and reports requested by the company and the client. • Monitors the installation and testing of casings and blowout prevention (BOP) equipment, as well as training in the safe use of BOP equipment. • Performs inspections and audits to check that the drilling equipment and facilities are maintained, monitors the efficiency of the drilling operation, and verifies that safe practices are followed; recommends and makes improvements and corrective actions where needed. • Provides input to the annual plan and budget; monitors budget to ensure cost effective operations and provides required financial and operational reports and forecasts. • Provides input and recommendations for the hiring, transfers, promotions, and terminations of drill crew personnel. • Reviews performance against unit measures; establishes initiatives with the team to achieve goals and objectives. • Develops and implements mechanisms to achieve effective communication, coordination of effort, information flow, and learning with direct reports. • Ensures Tool Pushers are informed of any operational, maintenance, environmental, health, safety, training, and quality issues, and works with team or individual supervisors to develop and implement effective solutions. • Submits to the Management the necessary overall and heavy repairs to be made to maintain the drilling equipment in a safe operation condition.
