The primary role is to ensure that drilling activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the approved drilling program. The Drilling Supervisor enforces Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, conducts toolbox talks, ensures job safety analyses are completed, and has the authority to stop work if unsafe conditions arise. He monitors well control practices, verifies BOP installation and testing, and ensures well integrity is maintained at all times. Operationally, the Drilling Supervisor coordinates rig crews, drilling contractors, and service companies during drilling, tripping, casing, cementing, and completion-related activities. He monitors drilling parameters such as weight on bit, rate of penetration, mud properties, and pressures to optimize performance and reduce non-productive time. The role also includes planning and logistics coordination, ensuring timely availability of materials, equipment, and services. Cost control is a key responsibility, including tracking daily expenditures and approving service tickets. Finally, the Drilling Supervisor prepares accurate daily drilling reports, communicates operational progress and challenges to office management, and ensures compliance with company policies, contracts, and local regulations.
