Internal Lifts: Moving heavy machinery and drilling components on the rig deck. Personnel Transfers: Executing safe transfers of personnel using specialized baskets (e.g., Frog or Billy Pugh). Inspections & Maintenance: Conducting daily/pre-shift inspections of cables, hydraulics, and safety devices (LMI/RCI). Communication: Coordinating closely with deck crews and banksmen via radio and hand signals. Safety Compliance: Adhering to load charts, weather limits (wind/sea state), and "Stop Work Authority. Deck Crew Supervision: Coordinating with Riggers and Banksmen via radio and standard hand signals to ensure precise load positioning. Toolbox Talks: Leading pre-shift safety meetings to discuss operational goals and "Stop Work Authority" conditions. Mentorship: Providing on-the-job training for junior operators (Stage 1 or 2) and deck personnel.
