A steward plays an important role in maintaining high standards of service, safety, and cleanliness in places such as hotels, restaurants, airlines, hospitals, events, and ships. The primary responsibility of a steward is to provide excellent customer service and ensure that guests or passengers have a comfortable and pleasant experience. A steward is responsible for setting up dining areas, serving food and beverages, and clearing tables after use. They must follow hygiene and safety standards while handling food and equipment. In many workplaces, stewards also assist in cleaning kitchens, dining halls, and service areas to maintain a neat and organized environment. Another key responsibility of a steward is to assist guests with their needs, answer questions politely, and handle complaints in a professional manner. They often work closely with supervisors, chefs, cabin crew, or event managers to ensure smooth operations. Stewards must follow company rules, safety procedures, and emergency protocols. In airlines or events, they may guide people, manage crowds, and ensure safety regulations are followed.
