As a Master / Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator (SDPO), I am responsible for the overall command, safety, and operational performance of offshore vessels engaged in subsea, construction, and offshore support activities. My core responsibilities include ensuring the safe navigation and station keeping of DP2/DP3 vessels during critical offshore operations such as subsea intervention, ROV deployment and recovery, cable-lay, pipelay support, trenching, heavy-lift activities, and accommodation support. I lead all bridge, DP, and marine operations, ensuring full compliance with ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, IMCA guidelines, client procedures, and offshore HSE requirements. I supervise and coordinate bridge teams, DP watchkeepers, deck crews, and engine departments to ensure seamless execution of SIMOPS and project-critical tasks. I am responsible for voyage planning, risk assessments, permit-to-work implementation, toolbox talks, emergency preparedness, drills, incident reporting, and corrective actions. I act as the primary interface with clients, marine controllers, project managers, and offshore supervisors, ensuring clear communication and alignment with operational objectives. I oversee vessel documentation, DP logs, maintenance planning, audits, inspections, and compliance reporting. My role also includes mentoring officers, enforcing safety culture, managing fatigue, and maintaining discipline onboard multinational crews. Ultimately, I am accountable for protecting life, the environment, and assets while delivering safe, efficient, and uninterrupted offshore operations.
