Roles & Responsibilities of Rig Mechanic Perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of mechanical equipment on the rig. Troubleshoot faults in drilling and auxiliary machinery. Maintain equipment such as: Drawworks Mud pumps Top drive Rotary table Cranes Air compressors Hydraulic systems Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as per PMS schedule. Replace defective parts like bearings, seals, valves, hoses, and gear components. Ensure proper lubrication and alignment of rotating equipment. Assist during rig move, equipment installation, and commissioning. Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work system. Maintain maintenance records and report breakdowns to Chief Mechanic. Maintain and arange mechanical store as per the records Maintain records about the spares available in the mechanical store and report to the chief mechanic
