Strategic Safety Leadership - Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSE management systems aligned with NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO, and IADC standards. - Lead safety planning for complex rig mobilizations, ensuring risk assessments and controls are embedded at every stage. - Champion a proactive safety culture across drilling and workover operations, achieving and sustaining zero-LTI milestones. Operational Oversight - Monitor daily rig activities to ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory HSE requirements. - Conduct hazard identification, job safety analyses (JSA), and permit-to-work (PTW) reviews to mitigate operational risks. - Oversee emergency response preparedness, including drills, contingency planning, and incident command coordination. Training & Competency Development - Design and deliver HSE training programs for multinational crews, enhancing awareness and competency in safe work practices. - Mentor supervisors and frontline staff to embed behavioral safety principles and accountability. - Facilitate onboarding safety inductions for new personnel and contractors. Auditing & Compliance - Perform internal and external HSE audits, inspections, and gap analyses to ensure adherence to ISO and IADC standards. - Track corrective actions, verify closure, and report findings to senior management. - Maintain accurate documentation of safety performance, incidents, and regulatory compliance. Incident Management & Reporting - Lead investigations into near-misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions using root cause analysis methodologies. - Prepare detailed reports with actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence. - Communicate lessons learned across teams to strengthen organizational resilience. Stakeholder Engagement - Collaborate with drilling contractors, service companies, and regulatory authorities to align on safety expectations. - Represent HSE interests in project planning, client meetings, and cross-functional coordination. - Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational safety and efficiency.
