1. Support to the Driller Assists the Driller during drilling, tripping, and casing operations Monitors drilling parameters (SPP, RPM, WOB, flow rate, pit volume) Helps maintain proper Bottom Hole Pressure (BHP) Follows Driller’s instructions during well control situations 2. Well Control Responsibilities (Very Important – IWCF) Recognizes early kick indicators (pit gain, flow increase, SPP change) Assists in shut-in procedures (hard shut-in / soft shut-in) Records: SIDPP SICP Pit gain Helps calculate: Kill mud weight Initial circulating pressure (ICP) Assists during kill operations (Driller’s Method / Wait & Weight) 3. Equipment Monitoring & Maintenance Checks: Mud pumps Top drive / rotary system Drawworks BOP control panel Ensures all drilling equipment is functioning properly Reports mechanical issues immediately 4. Safety & HSE Compliance Ensures crew follows safety procedures Participates in toolbox talks Ensures proper use of PPE Stops unsafe operations if necessary Safety is always priority before production. 5. Supervision of Floor Crew
