An Electrical Engineer with experience as a Chemical Pump Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems and pumping equipment used in chemical processing operations. The role involves monitoring, operating, and maintaining electrically driven pumps that transfer chemicals, fluids, or process materials within the facility. Key responsibilities include inspecting electrical components, motors, control panels, and instrumentation to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards. The engineer performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical faults in pump systems, motor starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control circuits. They also monitor pump pressure, flow rates, temperature, and system performance to maintain stable process operations. The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures when handling hazardous chemicals and operating high-pressure pumping equipment. The engineer coordinates with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure efficient workflow and minimize downtime. Documentation of maintenance activities, system performance, and incident reports is also part of the job. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer supports system improvements, energy efficiency initiatives, and equipment upgrades. They assist in testing, commissioning, and optimizing pump systems and electrical installations to improve reliability and productivity. Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and attention to safety are essential to maintain smooth and continuous plant operations.
