Roles and Responsibilities
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment on drilling rigs. Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on electrical components and control systems. Troubleshoot faults in generators, motors, lighting systems, switchboards, and control panels. Maintain and repair rig electrical equipment such as Top Drive systems, mud pumps, draw works, and drilling control systems. Monitor and maintain power distribution systems, transformers, and circuit breakers. Test and calibrate electrical equipment using multimeters, insulation testers, and other electrical testing tools. Ensure proper functioning of emergency shutdown systems and alarm systems. Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals for maintenance work. Carry out cable installation, termination, and panel wiring as per project requirements.
