Roles and Responsibilities
1. Operational Supervision Oversee daily coiled tubing operations such as well intervention, cleanouts, acid stimulation, milling, and logging. Ensure operations follow the approved program, procedures, and engineering design. Monitor equipment performance including injector head, reel, BOP stack, control cabin, and pumping units. Coordinate with drilling supervisors, engineers, and client representatives on-site. Make real-time operational decisions during well intervention. 2. Safety Leadership Enforce HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards during all operations. Conduct pre-job safety meetings (toolbox talks) and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with company and industry standards such as: American Petroleum Institute (API) International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) Monitor well control and pressure control equipment. Stop operations if unsafe conditions occur. 3. Team Leadership and Personnel Management Supervise coiled tubing operators, technicians, and helpers. Assign tasks and ensure proper crew rotation and competency. Train and mentor junior operators. Evaluate crew performance and maintain discipline and teamwork. 4. Equipment Management Ensure proper inspection, maintenance, and testing of coiled tubing equipment. Verify pressure testing of BOPs and control systems. Track tubing life, fatigue, and string condition. Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance. 5. Job Planning and Coordination Review well intervention programs and procedures before the job. Prepare equipment, tools, and materials required for operations. Coordinate logistics with base, maintenance teams, and third-party services. 6. Reporting and Documentation Maintain daily operational reports. Record job parameters such as depth, pressure, weight, and pumping rates. Report incidents, downtime, and operational performance. Provide job feedback to engineering teams. 7. Quality Control Ensure work meets client specifications and company standards. Verify proper installation and testing of downhole tools. Monitor job efficiency and minimize non-productive time (NPT). 8. Emergency Response Lead the crew during well control situations or equipment failures. Implement emergency procedures and coordinate with site management.
