Roles and Responsibilities
1. Equipment Inspection Inspect machines, engines, and mechanical systems regularly. Check for wear, leaks, unusual noise, or vibration. Identify potential mechanical problems before failure occurs. 2. Repair and Troubleshooting Diagnose mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns. Repair or replace damaged parts such as bearings, belts, gears, and seals. Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Test equipment after repair to ensure proper operation. 3. Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled maintenance on machines and vehicles. Lubricate moving parts and adjust mechanical components. Replace filters, oil, and worn-out parts. Follow maintenance schedules to reduce downtime. 4. Installation and Assembly Install new mechanical equipment or machine parts. Assemble and align motors, pumps, compressors, and gear systems. Ensure equipment is properly fitted and calibrated. 5. Safety Responsibilities Follow safety procedures and maintenance guidelines. Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ensure machines are safe to operate after repairs. Follow lockout/tagout procedures when working on equipment. 6. Documentation and Reporting Record maintenance and repair activities. Report major issues to supervisors or engineers. Maintain records of spare parts and repairs performed.
