Operate and control drilling equipment and rig floor operations to ensure safe and efficient drilling activities. Monitor drilling parameters such as weight on bit, rotary speed, pump pressure, and mud circulation. Supervise and coordinate the work of the assistant driller, derrickman, and floormen during drilling operations. Ensure proper handling of drill pipes, casing, and drilling tools during tripping and drilling activities. Maintain and operate drawworks, rotary table/top drive, and mud pumps. Monitor well conditions and detect potential drilling problems such as kicks, losses, or equipment failures. Implement well control procedures and respond quickly during emergency situations. Ensure compliance with HSE policies, safety standards, and operational procedures. Conduct pre-job safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety drills with the drilling crew. Maintain daily drilling reports, logs, and operational records. Coordinate with toolpusher, company man, and drilling engineers to achieve drilling objectives.
