Roles and Responsibilities
The Wellsite Geologist and EKD specialist work together to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations. The geologist identifies lithology and formations from drill cuttings, oversees coring and sampling, correlates data with offset wells, and advises on casing points and total depth. The EKD engineer monitors real-time drilling dynamics such as vibration and stick-slip, analyzes surface and downhole sensor data, optimizes drilling parameters, and detects downhole dysfunction. Both roles require constant communication and quick decision-making. I am trained to act professionally during H₂S (hydrogen sulfide) events, including executing emergency procedures, donning breathing apparatus, and coordinating with the rig team to ensure everyone's safety. Together, the geologist and EKD contribute to accurate well placement, risk reduction, and operational success
