“Field operator” * Make corrective action as per SOP and DCS panel operator instructions for ➢ field adjustments also inform operation engineer of any irregularities. *To perform smooth startup and shut down of plant as per SOP and DCS panel operator instructions. *Involved in complex shutdown activities and having knowledge about all safety permit systems. *Patrol the plant and ensures that the equipment is operating normally and that no unusual conditions exist. *Collect samples of various streams. *Operate processing equipment such as pumps, compressors, separator, furnace, dryer, reboilers, condensers and valves. *Co-ordination with various maintenance departments such as mechanical, instruments and electrical in carrying out maintenance activities. * Logging of plant parameters in log sheets, events in log book and also prepare daily shift reports. * Preparation of area and equipment before issuance of work permits for hot, cold, vessel/confined and excavation space work. *Taking regular round of unit to ensure safe operation of the plant. *Responsible for preparing equipment for maintenance including isolation, draining, steaming, and other procedures as required. “DCS operator” *Communicate with field operators for parameter adjustments in field. *Monitor and control all process parameter conditions such as flow rates, pressures, temperatures, levels, etc., through displays, graphics and trend logs. *Operate wastewater treatment system, emergency vent scrubber, washing area, vacuum distillation, heat recovery system, refrigeration cycle and cracking furnace. *Keep required quality of product.
