Roles and Responsibilities
• Company Man / Drilling supervisor responsibilities on deep complex wells. • Provide monitoring and technical leadership and guidance throughout all phases of well construction. • Analyse and interpret geological and geophysical data to support strategic drilling decisions. • Conducting well integrity analysis. • Identify well control and process safety risks and ensuring mitigations are in place in well construction operations. • Monitor and evaluate drilling performance, recommending improvements to reduce non-productive time. • Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations. • Performing engineering calculations to support operational decisions. • Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders. • Working on well basis of design and well design. • Designing drilling concepts and plans for oil and gas and geothermal exploration drilling and reservoir characterisation. • Conducting well integrity analysis for complex and highly deviated wells. • Identify well control and process safety risks and ensuring mitigations are in place in well design and operations. • Performing engineering calculations to support operational decisions. • Logistics planning and lookahead oversight. • Developed and implemented drilling procedures that improved ROP (Rate of Penetration) by 30% while maintaining safety and environmental compliance. • Provided input for several completions design and operations. • Collaborated closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to optimise well placement, contributing to an 12% increase in well production. • Implemented real-time data analysis techniques, enhancing drilling parameter adjustments.
Additional Skills/Certification
Strong foundation in well design and planning, Drilling optimisation, Real-time data analysis, Casing programs, Cementing, Hydraulics, and Completion operations. Proficiency in well planning using Landmark Suite: Compass™, WellPlan™, StressCheck™, Casing Seat™. Ability to analyse and optimize drilling performance and manage technical limits. High awareness of QHSE practices and risk management. Excellent communication, report writing, and team collaboration skills. Power BI, Python programming and AI skills. Fluency in both English and French. Effective management of multidisciplinary teams and contractors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Proficiency in Innova Drilling software.
