Operational Support: Assists the driller in controlling drilling parameters, managing the mud system, and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. Supervision & Safety: Directs crew members on the rig floor, ensuring safe work habits and adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols. Maintenance: Conducts routine inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of drilling equipment, including mud pumps, to minimize downtime. Drill Floor Coordination: Leads tasks such as assembling/disassembling drilling components, handling drilling tools, and maintaining pipe tallies. Record Keeping: Maintains accurate daily drilling reports, including well progress, mud properties, and equipment data. Well Control: Familiar with well control procedures and prepared to assist or stand in for the driller during emergency situations or heavy work operations.
