Roles and Responsibilities
• Monitored real-time drilling parameters (ROP, WOB, pump pressure, torque) across active wells; identified formation anomalies and communicated well control hazards immediately to the Company Man, wellsite geologist, and drilling engineer, contributing to zero unplanned incidents. • Operated FID chromatograph to quantify C1–nC5 hydrocarbon gases continuously; interpreted gas ratio trends to distinguish wet vs. dry zones and assess commercial reservoir potential for client teams. • Described drill cuttings under natural and UV light at lagged depth intervals, lithology, mineralogy, porosity, and fluorescence, delivering formation evaluation reports that directly informed client reservoir decisions. • Performed calcimetry, shale factor (CEC), and acetylene carbide tests on cuttings; calculated lag time, ECD, and cycle time to maintain precise depth correlation across all well logs. • Prepared Master Logs, Composite Logs, Pressure (D'exp) Logs, and Shale Density Plots to client specifications; supervised junior mud loggers and sample catchers on shift. • Monitored mud pit volumes for gain/loss events; cross-checked theoretical vs. actual mud returns during tripping operations to detect potential kick situations early.
