•The Assistant Mechanic supports the lead mechanic in maintaining and repairing all mechanical equipment to ensure safe, uninterrupted drilling operations. Key Responsibilities: Perform preventive and corrective •maintenance on diesel engines, mud pumps, compressors, draw works, and centrifugal pumps. •Inspect and replace worn components such as bearings, seals, belts, and gaskets Monitor mechanical systems during operations and report any abnormalities. •Follow permit-to-work (PTW) and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) safety procedures Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job safety analyses (JSA). •Maintain workshop cleanliness, manage spare parts inventory, and document maintenance logs. •Assist with equipment shutdowns, startups, and rigging during rig moves Report deficiencies and completed work to the lead mechanic or OIM during shift handovers.
