🔧 Electrical Maintenance & Repair • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical systems on the rig • Work on generators, motors, switchboards, transformers, and control systems • Ensure uninterrupted power supply for drilling operations • Diagnose faults using testing equipment (multimeters, insulation testers, etc.) ⸻ ⚙️ Equipment Installation & Commissioning • Install electrical wiring, panels, and equipment as per technical drawings • Assist in commissioning of new electrical systems and upgrades • Ensure all installations meet offshore and hazardous area standards (ATEX/IECEx) ⸻ 🛢️ Power Generation & Distribution • Operate and maintain diesel generators and power distribution systems • Monitor electrical load balance and system performance • Respond quickly to power failures or blackouts ⸻ 🔍 Inspection & Preventive Maintenance • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance schedules • Identify potential faults before failure occurs • Maintain records of maintenance and repairs ⸻ 🚨 Safety & Compliance • Follow strict offshore safety procedures and permit-to-work systems • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company policies • Work in hazardous areas safely (explosion-proof equipment handling) • Participate in emergency drills (fire, evacuation, shutdown) ⸻ 📊 Troubleshooting & Fault Finding • Quickly diagnose electrical issues under pressure • Minimize downtime of drilling operations • Work closely with mechanical and drilling teams ⸻ 📋 Documentation & Reporting • Maintain logs of electrical work, faults, and maintenance • Update technical drawings and system documentation • Report issues to senior engineers or supervisors ⸻ 🤝 Team Coordination • Coordinate with: • Drilling crew • Mechanical technicians • Instrumentation technicians • Support overall rig operations
