APACHE CORP (Forties Field Central North Sea)
Forties Field discovered in the Central North Sea originally by BP. Major responsibility was to ensure good quality LWD data produced and interpret inter-bedded Shale/Sandstone zones before target depths to explore possibilities of similar reservoir characterization. My role as a Well-Site Geologist was to make decisions on rate of penetration for good quality data.
SHELL (HPHT-Shearwater East Central Graben)
One of the high profile HPHT wells for Shell. The objective was to drill through the primary target (single structure Jurassic reservoir) case the hole and drill through the potential oil bearing secondary target overlain by varying thickness of Heather Shale. Responsibilities was to record and report gas values and advice Shell on abnormal pressure regimes whilst drilling. The well had to be plug and abandon after inference from gas values of possible communication between the primary and secondary targets, which had reasonably different pressure regimes. Also indication of faults along the well path made it impractical to drill the well.
