Main Engine automation system:

I have worked on MAN B&W MAIN ENGINE OF BHP 34650bhp, Kongsberg Auto chief system, Lyngso Marine automation system. During my sea service I have carried out trouble shooting on this various systems. Worked on main engine Alpha Lubricators and have carried out troubleshooting on the system.

 

Carried out testing of various temperature sensors/switches, pressure sensors/switches, Level switches and flow switches incorporated with the main engine. Carried out evaluation of performance of main engine.

 

Power Generating system:

Have experience working on MAN B&W generators, WARTZILA generators and Yanmar generators of up to 1400 kW capacity. Worked on the Automation of generators for taking on load and off loading the generators. Carry out regular maintenance on generator alternators. Routine maintenance as per maker’s instructions will be carried out. Worked on turbo generators.

 

Auxiliary Boiler

I have worked on AALBORG and MITSUBISHI auxiliary marine boilers of up to 90tonnes per hour capacity.

 

Worked on automation systems and control systems of boiler. Carried out trouble shooting.

 

Purification system

Normally ships have Heavy Fuel Oil, its the residual fuel needs to be clarified by purifier. Worked on Mitsubishi, westfalia, and alfalaval purifiers. Routine maintenance carried out as per maker’s instructions.

 

 

Various Pumps

Carried out maintenance on positive and non positive displacement pumps. Well understood the basic principles of various pumps and its applications. Maintenance on turbo pumps carried out with shore assistance.

 

Air conditioning and Refrigeration system:

As part of my job I have to look after the running and maintenance of Air condition plant and Reefer plants. Whenever required I have to charge gas and oil in the system. I have to monitor the temperature of the cold and freezer rooms and see that the temperature is maintained on daily basis. Troubleshooting also be carried out.

 

Planned Maintenance System:

All the maintenance and routine jobs are carried out as per the PMS system. I have work with AMOS and SHIP NET PMS system. Breakdown and Maintenance jobs are to be entered in PMS on a daily basis.

 

Marpol Equipments:

I carryout maintenance on Oily water separator and Waste oil Incinerator along with the chief engineer and maintain the record of spares used for the equipment. I will be strictly following the environmental protection rule stated by governing bodies. Garbage segregation has been followed as per STCW new convention.

 

Various pumps and blowers:

I have to take the vibration reading of all the pumps and blowers in the engine room and on deck and maintain a record in the PMS system. I have to overhaul the pumps whenever there is a breakdown or as per the PMS system. Regular maintenance is carried out on the pumps.
