Description of Project : (1) Supervision Consultancy Services for Construction Supervision of the Project for 4 lane NH Connectivity to the Proposed International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) at Vallarpadam, Cochin, Kerala” 

Description of Duties : As Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for overall planning and organizing all types of field geotechnical investigation like SPT, static & dynamic cone penetration test, vane shear tests etc. 
Responsibilities includes interpretation of sub soil data analysis, and review of foundation design . analysis for stability & settlement, geotechnical design of foundations for bridges, flyovers, ROBs, overpass, underpasses and culverts. Design review of reinforced earth wall, 
Construction Supervision of ground improvement by vertical band drain (PVBD) & STONE COLUMNS at the high approach embankments. Supervision of pile foundations, pile load tests (static and dynamic). Geotechnical instrumentation by piezometer and settlement plate at the ground improvement locations.
Also was involved in material investigations and testing of fill materials used both in embankment fill and subgrade construction .

Position : Quality Assurance Engineer / Geotechnical Engineer 
Description of Project : Kerala State Water supply Project , with JBIC assistance, Project Supervision Consultancy  
Description of Duties : review of concrete mix design of various grades as well as quality control, calibration and commissioning of the batching plant, testing, laying and compaction of mixes. 
Review of the soil investigation & Structural Design of 12 reservoir sites and bridge sites. 
Construction Supervision of service reservoir works including earth works, foundation works and reinforced concrete works. 
  

September 2004 to March 2007:
Employer : Wilbur Smith Associates Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. 
Position : Engineer ( Highways) 
Description of Project  
  
 : Improvement & Maintenance of IT Corridor, Chennai, BOT project 20 km IT EXPRESS WAY - widening & strengthening of existing four lane road to six lane road with flexible pavement. 
Description of Duties : was responsible for various pavement design options for approach embankments and ramps and design of flexible pavement as well as rigid pavement on a new alignment. Recommended safe slope using XSTABL software and erosion control measure using bitumen impregnated jute geo-net. Designed ground improvement measures using geo-fabrics and 
sand-wicks. Designed lightweight embankment using fly ash (including preparation of specification for the works). Analysis of Slope Stability Analysis of High Embankment with Different Geometrics Option.
 

September 2004 to March 2007:

Employer : Wilbur Smith Associates Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. 
Position : Engineer ( Highways) 
Description of Project : Trivandrum City Roads Improvement Project   World Bank funded Capital Region Development         includes          The development of 42 km of the City Road Network consisting of 13 Corridors , Upgrading of storm water drains, 32 nos box culverts, 36 nos 900mm dia  pipe culverts, 10.51 km of RCC Retaining walls, 2 flyovers , 5 minor bridges, and an underpass.  
Description of Duties :   involved in the construction supervision of the Palayam Under Pass. Supervision of the geotechnical investigation works at the Bridge & Fly Over sites. Analysis of confirmatory boring results and determining founding level, analysis and recommendation on vertical and lateral load test of piles for various bridges and handling construction problem in piling works. 
Review of Job Mix Formulae established for all granular base, sub base and bituminous mixes and Design Mix of concrete  various grades proposed by the contractor and approve/suggest modification in the JMF/Design Mix, laying methods, sampling and testing procedures and quality control measures to ensure required standards and consistency in quality at the commencement of items. 
 
August ’2002 to August 2004:

Position : Jr. Engineer (Highways)  
Description of Project : (1) Technical Audit & Quality Assurance (TA & QA )  job for the work of improvement of urban / rural road in earthquake affected districts of Gujarat State. 
- under Asian Development Bank Scheme.

 

(2) Construction Supervision (Maintenance) for 104 km and 

Technical Audit for 97.5 km (Fixed Budget Section) of Kerala State Transport Programe.
- under World Bank Assistance Scheme.
 Description of Duties : Supervision of pavement preparatory works & profile corrective course with Bituminous Macadam works (BM) and Bituminous Concrete works (BC). 
Leading Laboratory Engineers and Technicians in materials testing, witnessing, recording, reporting and documenting.

Description of Project : (1) Improvement &Resurfacing of  NH- 47 from 
Vazhimukku to Parassala (11 kms).

(2) Improvement &Resurfacing of  rural roads  from Vizhinjam to State Border via Poovar (20kms)

(3) ROB at Peetah NH bypass  200m long at Trivandrum.
 
Description of Duties : Recorded measurements and prepared bills for payment. 
Associated with full quality assurance aspects right from sub surface investigation to day-to-day supervision of construction of 200-meter long Pettah Bridge.
