Job Responsibilities
• Actively participate in pre-tour, toolbox talks, pre-job meetings and weekly safety meetings
• Operates pipe handling tools such as Iron roughneck, tongs and chain tongs, pipe wrenches, elevators, slips, etc.
• Assists with the counting and moving casing, tubing or other drilling tools from pipe rack to rig floor
• Familiar with donning SCBA in case of well control / kick / pit / trip & assist driller in shut in well procedure at rig floor
• In case of fire, assist assistant driller in fighting fire
• Familiar with the iron roughneck ( TM-120 ) opearation,
• Making sure the buffer zone around catwalk is clear from any personnel
• Involved in lifting and heavy lifting operations of drilling equipment with crane.
• Lifting of casing pipes with cat walk ( pregma )
• Operating Air winches, ( tugger’s ) & man rider winch
• monitoring, cleaning and maintaining shale shakers (maintaining and replacing shaker screens), and cleaning flow lines as needed
• Providing relief for derrick man on mud pits, working in pit room, cleaning pits, working in mud pump rooms and basic maintenance of mud pumps.
• Work in the BOP area as per instructions. Washing and cleaning BOP, involved in changing the DSA, replacing RAMs and changing the rubber inside the RAMs of BOP.
• Performing any other tasks involving the maintenance of the rig, such as washing, cleaning, scrubbing, painting, etc
• Helping during on loading and offloading drilling equipment to and from drilling location.
• Performing any other tasks instructed from driller or tool pusher
• Helping the driller during Shut in well during well control , kick ,H2S release & during mock drills
• Arranging drill pipes, drill collar, casing pipes on pipe racks with help of forklift
• During rig move assist with heavy lifts , rig equipments , accommodations, cabins,
• Assist derrick man to know mud weight, viscosity , etc
• Clean mud tanks as per confined space entry procedures.
