Duties include;
Inspection, QA and commissioning during shipyard periods. Maintenance and repair of all drilling and rig systems aboard during operations, including but not limited to BOP control system, drill floor automation equipment, cantilever skidding and jacking equipment, rig power.
- Oct – Sep , Senior Mechanic, Ensco , “Gorilla class” North Sea Euro sectors,
Duties include;
Management and training of all other mechanics and assistant mechanics.
Engineering projects, such as but not limited to the overhaul of BOP Control unit and construction of enclosure, correcting rig system pipe work, installation of new equipment, planning and organisation of third party overhaul projects.
Management of PM system “EAMS”
Creation of Work instruction required within maintenance
Hydraulic hose scheduled/unscheduled replacement
Control and management of any and all unexpected equipment failures minimising further damage and/or downtime potential
- Apr – Oct , Senior Mechanic, Northern offshore, Energy Endeavour,
Duties included;
Acquiring the rig from Maersk drilling and implementing northern offshore systems.
Creating PM’s for all equipment on board
Management of PM system “STAR”
Creation of Work instruction required within maintenance
Hydraulic hose scheduled/unscheduled replacement
Control and management of any and all unexpected equipment failures minimising further damage and/or downtime potential
Supervision of mechanics and motormen

Modern apprenticeship which included but not limited too;
Bench fitting, Machining, Welding
Overhaul, repair, rebuild of valves and actuators
Pressure testing using both hydrostatic testing and nitrogen gas

I am a safety conscious senior mechanic with strong experience in the offshore oil and gas sector, car restoration and machining. I am currently employed as a senior mechanic aboard a harsh environment Jack-up drilling rig located in the North Sea.
I am someone who relishes new challenges, actively seeks out new responsibilities and can capably work under pressure. With that in mind I wish to further progress my career, this is something I will continue to work towards and will readily accept all training in order to reach that goal.
