Assistant Driller | Reputed Company

–

• Supervises casing operations, including stab casing, lining up threads, valves, pumps fluid system, casing fill-up, mixing, and monitoring returns.
• Inspects Top Drive, torque equipment, and related equipment for proper functioning.
• Assists in nippling, maintaining, and repairing blowout prevention (BOP) equipment.
• Assists in other areas of the drilling operation as directed.
• Acts as a lead in the pump area, mud pits, and rig floor based on direction from the Driller.

Assistant driller, Derrick man, floorman and Roustabout | National drilling company (NDC) (OFF SHORE) (Abu Dhabi)

– (ASSISTANT DRILLER)

• Operate and maintain rig equipment. Supervise rig personal in performing rig operations and rig site activities.
• Maintain a high level of safety and training of rig personal.

 

– (DERRICK MAN)

 

• Maintains equipment in the pump area and mud pits; informs the Driller or Driller Trainee of any problems or unexpected variations in the drilling fluid, mud properties, and pit level.
• Lines up mud gas separator, degasser, and mixing pumps.
• Mixes and maintains the condition of the drilling fluid.
• Mixes the mud in accordancewith the Mud Engineers specifications; checks weight and viscosity, calculates pit volumes, and monitors returns from shaker house.
• Logs drilling fluid properties and quantity of drilling chemicals and mud materials used each tour.
• Monitors the high-pressure mud pumps, making certain that the condition, fluid levels, lubrication, and calibration of the equipment is correct.
• performs preventive maintenance on the high pressure mud pumps and replaces fluids as needed.
• Operates, cleans, performs preventative maintenance, and repairs mud mixing pumps, charging pumps, solid controlequipment, and related equipment.
• Maintains a clean and safe area.
• Derrick Operations
• Inspects the derrick on a weekly basis in accordancewith approved checklist.
• Handles tubular in the derrick or on the rig floor; checks fluid transfers, and returns and prepares stand to rack and run.
• Handles the upper end of the drill string as it is being hoisted out of or lowered into the hole.
• Maintains derrick by inspecting lines, ropes, hoist, monkey board, derrick fingers, tubing and stabbing boards, sheaves, crown block, bolts, pins, welds, and other lines and equipment attached to the derrick; lubricates air hoists, sheaves, and fast line guide, performs basic repairs and replaces defective parts.

 

- (Floor man)

 

• Tightens/loosens drill pipes and makes/breaks tubular connections.
• Tails, stabs, rack backs, and handles drill string, casing, and tubing.
• Makes up/breaks out stands and racks pipe in the derrick.
• Performs rig-ups and uses rig floor equipment.
• Lines up and bleeds down pressure from lines, valves, and equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance on the rig floor, including greasing of fittings and other lubricationpoints and replacementof tubularbox and pinconnections, dies, nuts, bolts, etc.
• Repairs hand and power tools.
• Maintains wire ropes and cables.
• Bundle, move, rack, and maintain tubular goods.
• Installs stopcollars and centralizers on casing.
• Performs housekeeping onthe drill floor; conducts inspections as requested.
• Takes mud samples, and checks weight and viscosity; maintains documentation.
• Assists Derrick man in mixingand handling mud and chemicals; adjusts the flow ofmud.
• Maintains, repairs, adjusts shaker equipment and assist with maintaining of all solid control and mixing equipment.
• Monitors hole foradequate fill. · Performs maintenance and simple repairs on blowout prevention (BOP) equipment under supervision.
• Performs all duties in accordance with the Permit to Work System.

– (Roustabout)

• Assist the Crane Operator with the rigging of equipment, supplies, tubular, pipe and casing that needs to be moved or relocated throughout the rig.
• Inspects and rigs loads using slings, tag lines, chains, shackles, lift caps, hooks, chain binders, etc.; hooks and unhooks the crane from slings, equipment, etc..
• Assist in handling and mixing mud and chemicals safely, and disposes of debris properly.
• Fills in as a relief worker for the drill crew.
• Greases and maintains the hatches, wedges, fire flaps, and cargo gear.
• Assist in assembling, dismantling, maintaining and lubrication deck machinery and other equipment.
• Organizes equipment and materials on the deck to provide adequate working area.
• Maintenance, washing, and cleaning up of the drilling rig which can include, but not limited to, chipping and painting decking and equipment.
• Prepares surfaces for painting using power tools; selects and uses proper equipment.
