Key Responsibilities
- Supervised the drilling operations and associated activities to ensure that they are in accordance with the well program.
- Ensured that drilling operations are carried out in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
- Assisted in planning drilling job activities & associated activities & ensuring that well control requirement is in place according to operational requirement.
- Kept accurate BHA & pipe tally worksheet records including details of equipment or tools run in hole.
- Maintained records of inspection and certification of drilling equipment, tools and tubular including records of ton-miles, pump hours and tubular rotary hours.
- Briefed the Rig Manager, Operator’s representative and third party service companies on matters which should be brought to their attention.
- Assessed the performance of rig crew members and make recommendations for promotions or development re-assignment.
- Ensured that mud mixing system and solid control equipment are monitored proper and maintained properly.
- Relieved the Driller at the drillers console as operation requirement demands.
- Ensured that the rig crew conducted and recorded their assigned tasks in the rig Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Kept records and charts of BOP and other equipment/tool pressure test.
- Ensured that all activities, including those of third party contractors, are conducted using safe working practices and using the designated Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), etc.
