Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management:
- Lead and manage daily operations across production, processing, and distribution facilities
- Ensure operational efficiency, reliability, and continuity in line with company targets
- Develop and implement operational strategies and KPIs to enhance performance
- Monitor operational metrics and prepare reports for senior management
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and local regulatory requirements
Maintenance Management:
- Oversee all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
- Ensure mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment operate at peak efficiency
- Develop maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and resource allocation
- Approve critical maintenance decisions and emergency interventions
Safety, Health & Environment (HSE):
- Ensure all operations and maintenance activities comply with HSE regulations
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across teams
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop departmental managers, engineers, and supervisors
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between operations, maintenance, and other support teams
- Implement training and development plans for technical and supervisory staff
Project & Asset Management:
- Support new projects, equipment commissioning, and plant upgrades
- Coordinate with project teams for smooth handover to operations and maintenance
- Monitor asset lifecycle performance and recommend upgrades or replacements
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Liaise with clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities
- Evaluate and approve service contracts and vendor agreements
- Ensure high-quality service delivery from external partners
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
- In-depth knowledge of oil & gas operations and maintenance practices
- Excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
- Proficiency in operational management, budgeting, and reporting
- Knowledge of HSE standards and compliance requirements
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering
- 15+ years of experience in oil & gas operations and maintenance
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership/management role
- Proven track record in leading large teams and managing complex operations
