QUALIFICATIONS
Trade certificate for Marine mechanics, with technical know on various types of marine engines, machines, equipment and parts.
EXPERIENCE
Up to 2 years in ships/shipyards and marine workshops. Ability to repair simple marine engines, machines, equipment and parts repair & maintenance and simple troubleshooting
SKILLS
Analytical skills, diagnostic and trouble shooting skills, ability to read operational manuals and follow standard operating instructions
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES
Attention to detail, Problem solving ability
Certification Requirement
Scope :
Implement all Standard Operating Procedures, Preventive and Planned maintenance and guidelines within the workshop on various types of engines, equipment, machines and parts. Scope includes attending to routine /planned checks and tests.
Environmental Factors :
The IRSHAD marine fleet is highly dependent on electrical and electronic equipment such as main engine controls, Controllable Pitch propeller, Steering, generators, safety, navigation and communication equipments etc. Delay in trouble shooting the electrical/electronic fault can adversely affect vessel operations.
The job is basically shore based and is based within the workshop environment
