An Offshore Storekeeper is responsible for the effective control, storage, and distribution of all materials, equipment, and consumables required for offshore operations. The role ensures that the rig or vessel has the right materials available at the right time to support safe and uninterrupted operations. Key duties include receiving materials from supply vessels or helicopters, checking quantities and conditions against delivery documents, and reporting any discrepancies or damages. The storekeeper maintains accurate inventory records using manual logs or computerized inventory systems and issues materials only against approved requisitions. Monitoring stock levels, identifying critical spares, and coordinating timely reordering with onshore logistics teams are essential responsibilities. The offshore storekeeper ensures proper storage and segregation of materials, including hazardous chemicals, lubricants, and gases, in compliance with HSE standards and MSDS guidelines. Good housekeeping, labeling, and secure storage practices are maintained at all times. The role also involves preparing materials for backload to shore, including surplus, damaged, or repair items, with correct documentation. In addition, the storekeeper supports audits, inspections, and stock counts, prepares regular inventory and consumption reports, and communicates effectively with engineers, supervisors, and the HSE team. Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work under offshore operational pressure are critical for success in this role.
